DALLAS, TX (March 7, 2024)— At a time when it seems that almost everyone purports to be a “coach” of some kind, organizational consulting and coaching CEO Dr. Alison Schmidt announced the launch of UNCONVENTION LLC, a coaching and leadership consultancy that promotes unconventional excellence, for individuals, teams, boards and organizations so uniquely—by unraveling limiting assumptions and bad habits, while prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusion—that one might even call it (un)coaching. 

Schmidt also shared plans for the coming (DATE TBD) launch of (un)conversations™, a speaker series that will feature C-suite/high-level corporate executives and industry leaders who are taking unconventional steps to differentiate their businesses and their lives.

“I am thrilled to finally announce these two initiatives, which in many ways I have been building and fine-tuning over the entire course of my 20+ year career,” said Schmidt. “I have always believed that a company’s landscape—built and run by innovative and inspired leaders, and embracing diversity in all of its essential aspects—can make things better not only for businesses and high level professionals, but, given the profound impact that organizations have, on society as a whole.”

Dr. Schmidt brings more than two decades of experience in organizational consulting and coaching, which has led to long-standing, trusting and collaborative partnerships with C- and D-level individuals in various industries. Clients ranging from Fortune 500 to start-up companies regularly turn to her to improve their organizational effectiveness, and better manage challenges and change.

Differentiating her from many other business coaches, Dr. Schmidt holds a doctoral degree in Organizational Psychology from Alliant International University in Alhambra, California. She is a CCE Global Board-certified coach with specialties covering executive leadership, personal/life, health/wellness and career coaching, and a certified training facilitator through Development Dimensions International.  

Believing strongly that companies can ‘profit’, multifold, from a diverse and inclusive workforce and company culture, Dr. Schmidt is committed to implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) solutions through actions not just words. She has served on boards and in organizations which amplify marginalized voices and support LGBTQIA+ communities as well as individuals and families living with HIV and AIDS. In Dr. Schmidt’s opinion, “checking the box on these initiatives, in a merely performative way, does not mean a company truly cares about DEI without the willingness of the organization’s leadership being held accountable for creating, promoting, and integrating it into the culture.” Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the forefront of her personal and business values.
